When trying to reinstall OS X, getting error message “An error occurred while preparing the installation. In this case, I was handed the Mac Book Pro by a client because it would not completely boot up, not even after trying all of the keyboard boot up functions (like holding shift key on boot up).So the decision was made to reinstall Mac OS X Maverick (which is what was installed on it), using the Mac Disk Utility. This version ran without issue first time, updating the computer's firmware and installing High Sierra.According to anecdotal comments online, it seems that Apple is installing a firmware upgrade and older versions of the High Sierra installer only worked with specific drive configurations.ps: i wasnt able to insert a link because its my first post, so see the screenshot attached.Originally Posted by valaky Hello, While using Sygic navigation dad's galaxy ace (S5830i) got frozen, I restarted it by pushing the power button for a few seconds, but the phone didn't start up, just showing the samsung logo animation again and again...Simple enough, except for the fact that every time I tried to do the reinstall, I kept getting the error and the reinstall would not complete. The following steps are what I discovered in order to fix the error, so that the reinstall can complete.

I used more than one versions of Odin, including the version offered by (this is what you can seen on the screenshot) Im so faithless about the phone now... I also got the same problem, flashing a firmware from sammobile and failing to flash it even if I use the file i found on other threads. Download the Pda.tarhere and place it in the PDa section. it worked for me, I soft bricked my s5830i several times already and the works like a charm.
