Bsd updating kernel

Attempting it via a discussion forum is extremely difficult. The only log I've been able to retrieve is the following, which is generated by the system after such crashes and mailed to Apple.

I took the machine to an Apple Genius Bar and they believe the problems is with the 'photolibraryd' process.

This would, I believe, indicate there isn't a problem with the hardware or RAM.

I suspected an rogue extension, and have been trying to uninstall apps that load code or extensions at startup, such as Full Contact, Skitch, Yoink, Clean My Mac, and Things. I contacted Apple Support for advice on how to disable or remove other third party extensions but they said there was no method for doing this. Apple FSCompression Type Dataless 1.0.0d1com.apple.

For now I am back on my Sierra disk, which sometimes hangs, specially when I've been away for a while and try to log back in. Here's my pain log, seems to look a bit the same as from Nico. I was able to create a new photo library (by Alt-launching the app) but this hasn't solved the problem.
